As 2024 approaches, new phones are being launched everywhere.
The smartphone market advances quickly, and there appears to be almost no downtime between launches these days. So, how can you decide which is the greatest option for you?
Best smartphone 2024
1- Google Pixel 8 Pro
Price: ₹ 1,06,999
Pros | Cons |
High build quality | Battery life is mediocre |
Incredible cameras. | Slow Charging |
Useful software features | Big and heavy. |
The Pixel 7 Pro was already a great smartphone, but the Pixel 8 Pro takes it to a new level.
Not only does the Tensor G3 processor improve speed, but it also enables a number of genuinely valuable software functions. Many of these improve the photographic experience, with Google's superior processing and adept optics producing consistently high-quality images.
Android 14 on the Pixel is the most clean and straightforward software available on any smartphone, and Google will now support it for an astonishing seven years. With a sumptuous, premium construction and a pricing that still undercuts top-tier flagships, the Pixel 8 Pro is an excellent smartphone.
However, not all of the news is good. The battery life and charging could yet be improved.
2- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Price: ₹1,24,999.00 to ₹1,34,999.00
Pros | Cons |
Outstanding speed and high-quality cameras | Slow 45W charging. |
Long battery life | Poor selfie camera. |
High-quality design | Huge luxury object. |
If you want the phone with the most features available, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is it. It's a large, expensive phone, but it has every feature you could want in a smartphone in 2023, including incredibly good triple cameras, long-lasting battery life, performance as fast as any rival phone, and, of course, the now-unique S-Pen stylus tucked away in the phone for when you need it.
It's one of the few phones with a squared-off body and screen, yet it's comfortable to carry because of the high build quality and well tapered corners and display.
This design rewards you with the best screen on any phone, suitable for whatever program you can throw at it and ideal for watching videos.
The 200Mp main camera is fantastic, especially if you want somewhat saturated colors that appear more vibrant than they do in real life. That is not to suggest they appear artificial; the quality is fantastic, with an ultrawide and two separate 3x and 10x optical telephoto lenses, all of which are superb. It's a shame the selfie camera performs poorly in low light.
3- iPhone 15 Pro
Price: ₹ 1,30,990
Pros | Cons |
Excellent cams. | USB-C port. |
Excellent show | Slow charging |
Lack of 5x optical zoom on the Pro Max |
A new titanium design is robust but noticeably lighter, and a new configurable Action Button replaces the mute switch. Apple's A17 Pro chipset is the most competent on any smartphone, delivering absolutely exceptional performance, and the addition of USB-C is unquestionably a step forward.
The 6.1-inch display is quite small by modern phone standards, but it looks great and benefits from a 120Hz refresh rate. Battery life is generally good, albeit you'll have to deal with slow charging speeds.
However, despite the lack of 5x optical zoom on the telephoto lens, the overall photography experience is excellent. Many apps now support the really useful Dynamic Island, and iOS 16 remains as sleek and straightforward as ever.
4- Google Pixel 7a
Price: ₹ 43,999
Pros | Cons |
Excellent camera for the price. | Slow Charging |
Excellent Google software with strong performance. | Wireless charging is unreliable. |
Water-resistant | Not as quick as the Pixel 7 with a 90Hz display. |
The Google Pixel 7a improves on the greatest features of the 2022 Pixel 6a, including a superb camera, strong performance, and several years of software support, with a better 90Hz screen and a more luxurious look.
With a smaller 6.1-inch display, the Pixel 7a is also much simpler to use and carry than many of the larger phones on this list, and it features the same Tensor G2 processor as the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.
The 64-megapixel primary camera is very outstanding. There is no better phone camera for still photographs at this price, and few are better at any price. You can also get the phone in colorful blue and coral colors, or stick to white or black if you want.
5- OnePlus 11
Price: ₹ 56,999
Pros | Cons |
Excellent screen. | No wireless charging. |
Fast performance. | Not completely watertight. |
Competitive pricing | |
Strong cameras. |
The OnePlus 11 is also small and elegant, despite its 6.7-inch screen, which is not the case with other large phones. You can choose between the green glossy model and the black variant, which has a matte, almost-silk-like surface on the back glass. It means it detects no fingerprints, but it's one of the slickest phones available.
So long as you don't mind the slightly labored newer version of OxygenOS, which frequently modifies Android for the sake of change, this is a fantastic phone at a price that ensures you'll get your money's worth if you can keep it for five years.
